Overview: The One Journey Festival is a grassroots coalition that works to combat the negative perceptions of refugees within the United States by illuminating their contributions to American society. In 2019, the One Journey Festival launched a digital campaign in which they released a series of blog posts that chronicled the challenges faced by refugees and immigrants living within the United States. To support this campaign, I interviewed a Latin American DREAMer regarding their migration to the US and wrote a blog post to capture the obstacles they faced throughout their journey. This blog post was then published on One Journey’s website and promoted across their digital and print channels to humanize the refugee community and garner empathy for their cause.
